On the last Friday in August the Hunter Breast Cancer Foundation (HBCF) and Hunter Melanoma Foundation (HMF) united for their third Knockers and Moles event, which raised $20,000.

This inspiring collaboration between two community-funded charities exemplifies the power of coming together to make a significant impact.

Knockers and Moles the Cabaret was held at Warners Bay Theatre and drew an array of support from individuals, business and organisations throughout the Hunter region.

With performances from the incredibly talented Timberlina and friends, guests enjoyed a night of belly laughs, connection and an all round great time. Participants also demonstrated their unwavering commitment to supporting the critical missions of HBCF and HMF.

“We believe that together, we can achieve more, and each year this event goes from strength to strength, not only raising funds for both our organisations but also raising awareness of two of the Hunter’s most prominent cancers,” HBCF General Manager, Abbey McDonell said.

Both HBCF and HMF have made significant strides in their charities, and the $20,000 raised during this event will significantly bolster their efforts to provide vital services and support to individuals and families affected by these diseases in the local community.

“Melanoma and breast cancer are two diseases that impact the lives of countless individuals and families in the Hunter region. By joining forces, HBCF and HMF are combining their expertise and resources to make a more profound difference in the fight against these diseases,” HMF Executive Officer, Claudia Tolhurst said.

HBCF and HMF will continue their shared goal, to reduce the impact of melanoma and breast cancer in the local community, and through this joint collaboration both organisations will continue to expand their reach and deepen their impact in the Hunter region together.

“The success of the Knockers and Moles event would not have been possible without the support of the local community, volunteers, sponsors, and prize donors. Their collective efforts have demonstrated the incredible potential local charities can have when they come together to create positive change” Ms McDonell said.

“We cannot wait to bring Knockers and Moles back in 2024, it is going to be bigger, better and more glitzy of course,” Ms Tolhurst said.

Knockers and Moles the Cabaret was proudly sponsored by Lake Macquarie City Council, Valley Estate Agents, Central Hunter Sports Medicine, CENTURY 21 Aaron Walter and Peter Drayton Hunter Valley Wines.
