Maitland City Council will close out its 2025–26 summer program in style with Summer Night Sounds x Dashville, a free evening of live music and community activities on Saturday 28 February 2026, from 4pm to 9pm at Harold Gregson Reserve.

Delivered in partnership with Dashville, the event will feature local and regional artists performing folk and indie-influenced music at the amphitheatre in one of Maitland’s most loved green spaces on the final day of summer.

Attendees can bring their own drinks and picnic rugs, and enjoy a bite to eat from on-site food vendors, while listening to performances by Johnston City, Magpie Diaries, Dave Wells, Georgie Winchester and Kingsley James & The Forest Keepers.

Families can also enjoy a free Roller Disco at the Harold Gregson basketball court from 5pm to 8pm, featuring a live DJ spinning tunes.

Maitland Mayor Philip Penfold said the events highlight Council’s commitment to activating public spaces and supporting live music in ways that are accessible for the whole community.

“Summer Night Sounds x Dashville is a fantastic way to bring people together in our parks and open spaces,” Mayor Penfold said.

“The combination of music and community activities allows families, young people and music lovers of all ages to discover local talent and celebrate summer in Maitland.”

“Families can skate around the basketball court at the Roller Disco, then settle into the amphitheatre for live music as the sun sets. It’s a great way to make the most of our parks and support local talent,” Mayor Penfold said.

Dashville, the team behind Hunter region events such as The Gum Ball music festival, is recognised for supporting regional touring artists and creating engaging community experiences. Their involvement brings a carefully curated live music program to Maitland as part of Council’s summer celebrations.

Matt Johnston, founder of Dashville Community Records, said, “Summer Night Sounds is a great initiative from Council and teaming up with the Dashville Community Records is an excellent opportunity to not only showcase how rich the local music scene is in Maitland, but also assist in audience development for these world class artists that live and breathe Maitland.”

The event is free to attend, with no bookings required. For more information on Summer Night Sounds x Dashville, visit mait.city/SummerNightSoundsDashville
