Opening Date Set for Harrigan's Cameron Park

After more than a year under construction and 15 years in planning, Lake Macquarie/ Newcastle’s newest pub, located in the rapidly expanding Cameron Park, will be open to patrons on Saturday, 16 September.

Harrigan’s Cameron Park is owned and operated by Roche Group, well known locally as owners of the famous Hunter Valley Gardens and Harrigan’s Hunter Valley in Pokolbin.

Harrigan’s is a large-scale venue in a contemporary Australian “pub” style with an industrial aesthetic boasting expansive interior spaces, three bars and wide verandahs that bring a new level of sophistication to Newcastle’s flourishing pub scene.

The single-level premises is designed around an impressive central atrium/entry foyer anchoring two long wings, each with high vaulted ceilings to accentuate the feeling of space.

A double-sided fireplace adds warmth and character to the interior, which is dotted with long, easy-access bars replete with multi-tap beer fonts (18 varieties) alongside an extensive selection of wines and spirits, many from local producers.

The nearly 100-metre-long multi-purpose interior boasts mixed media to the walls and floors with artistic ceramic tiles, recycled timber, metallic surfaces and lush carpet, creating an exciting and comfortable space for patrons to enjoy themselves.

The arrival of Harrigan’s brings to fruition keenly felt local expectations from the rapidly growing community, which has been devoid of a facility such as this until now.

“We are genuinely excited to be bringing this new iconic pub to Cameron Park and are sure the patrons will adopt it as their local… a community pub which will be a place for family and friends to gather and make memories,” said Roche Group Pub Operations Manager Nic Barnett.

“Our menu is focused on providing our patrons with great pub food, highlighting locally sourced produce across our extensive menu. We have also invested in an Italian pizza oven for authentic wood-fired pizzas and will serve delicious chef-prepared à la carte meals for diners.

Three giant screens are situated in both the Sports and Terrace Bars to provide visitors with an immersive experience, and full TAB facilities are available inside the premises.

“While enjoying the wide range of beer, wine and spirits, guests can enjoy a full entertainment experience with live music in a designated lounge at the northern end of the building,” said Nic.

“We also have an indoor/outdoor children’s play area for the kids, which will include an amazing mural by well-known Newcastle artist Mitch Revs,” he added.

Adjacent to the main bar is a wide alfresco dining area complete with a misting cooling system and a function room for special events facing the water, featuring a grand fireplace as its centrepiece.

“We aim to set a benchmark for customer service in everything we do, and Cameron Park will finally have an amazing place at the heart of the community,” said Nic Barnett.

The multi-million-dollar development is the first new pub in the Newcastle/Lake Macquarie area for over 20 years and boasts state-of-the-art facilities throughout.

Access is via McKendry Dr, Cameron Park, and car parking is available within the property's boundaries with additional spaces nearby.
