You're not just getting a piece of metal when you order a handmade wrought-iron product from Cosy Iron Design - you're getting a physical manifestation of an age-old artisanal craft, and the culmination of over 50 years of experience from master blacksmith René Rasmussen.
Follow the sound of hammer and anvil, and you'll find René ensconced in his forge, blending traditional and modern tools to create bespoke pieces for clients of every kind. His wife Judith brings her own creative talents to the business; a diploma-qualified welder well-versed in fabrication and steel manufacturing, she designs smaller original pieces such as wine racks and candelabras. René has affectionately dubbed her “The Master's Apprentice.”
Cosy Iron's work marries old-world artistry with uncompromising quality. René and Judith collaborate with architects, designers, builders, fabricators and individual clients to produce a mix of classic and contemporary wrought iron designs and specialise in restoration as well as new commissions. Whether you have a functional or decorative piece in need of attention, or you're after something entirely new, Cosy Iron is the place to call.
In an age of mass production, where the art of true handcrafting can feel all but lost, a master craftsperson like René is a rare find. Commission a piece from Cosy Iron Design, and you're getting more than an object - you're gaining a unique focal point for your home or garden, and an heirloom to be treasured and passed down for generations to come.
