National College of Dance ‘Nostalgia’ Gala Event, a Celebration of the Arts in Newcastle

A celebration of Newcastle’s best dance students, staff and performance pieces, National College of Dance’s (NCD) gala event ‘Nostalgia’ is a must-see event this Thursday, 19th May 2022.

Performing at Newcastle’s iconic Civic Theatre, the two-hour performance will showcase a wonderful collection of NCD’s most memorable performance pieces from the last ten years.

‘Nostalgia’ is a celebration of Brett Morgan, NCD’s Artistic Director’s ten year anniversary of owning the school, and recognising his incredible accomplishment of receiving an Order of Australia 2021 for his contribution to the arts.

With a career spanning over 30 years as a professional dancer, dance teacher and artistic director, Brett Morgan brings a wealth of experience to NCD.

In the years since Brett became the Artistic Director and then owner of NCD, the school has been rated in the top 3 schools in all national dance competitions in both classical and contemporary dance, and had finalists in the prestigious Prix de Lausanne and Youth Grand Prix.

Listed in the top 10 dance schools in Australia, NCD is amongst the best of the best, with every graduating student in the last four years receiving a placement offer in international dance finishing schools and junior companies; a tribute to Brett and the incredible team of teachers and mentors.

By providing an environment where dance is respected, admired and rewarded, and students can learn and perform to the highest standard, NCD is the leading college for vocational dance in regional Australia.

For all fans of the arts, regular theatre-goers, lovers of dance and Newcastle locals, this is a must-see show!
