Unveiling a New Era of Entertainment, Dining, and Sailing on Lake Macquarie

In a celebration of its 101st anniversary, the Belmont 16s Sailing Club is thrilled to announce the completion of its comprehensive redevelopment, aptly named the “Centenary Project”, marking a new chapter in the Club's storied history. This 18-month transformative journey has culminated in a multifaceted entertainment hub catering to diverse tastes and interests.

The revitalised Sailing Club once again boasts an array of diverse weekly events, including free live music sessions that set the tone for vibrant evenings every Friday and Saturday night. The stage is also set for notable ticketed shows and concerts, featuring a lineup of renowned artists and performers such as Marina Prior, David Hobson and Eagle Rock himself Ross Wilson, with more iconic and not-to-be-missed Australian performers to be announced soon. Adding to the mix, the Club introduces new age “Bingo with a View”, the first in N.S.W to incorporate B.Y.O. device capabilities along with additional jackpots. The popular Boat Shed Bar Trivia now has even more space that offers fun-filled and engaging activities every Wednesday night.

Various dining options have been introduced and expanded, each designed to cater to different palates, ensuring every visitor finds an experience to suit their individual tastes. From gourmet delights to comforting classics, intimate dinners or sharing a meal with family and friends, Belmont 16s Sailing Club has elevated as a dining destination on the eastern shores of Lake Macquarie.

Sailing facilities have received a significant upgrade, reinforcing the Club's commitment to sailing excellence. These enhancements not only improve the sailing experience but also honour the Club's rich heritage in the sport.

“Our facilities and learn to sail teachers are now more than ever at such a high standard that we see not only more enrolments of kids aged from 7 years to learn to sail but a higher transition from the learn to sail to our junior classes, which is an indicator of promising growth of the next generation of Belmont skiff sailors,” says Sailing Manager Nadine Steenson.

The Club now features stunning new wedding and event spaces that offer expansive views, providing a picturesque backdrop for unforgettable moments of celebration together on Belmont Bay.

It is not just the physical Club building that has received an update. Members are also seeing enhanced loyalty perks, discounts, and exclusive promotions, along with a fresh rebranding symbolising a modern and forwardthinking approach while respecting the rich history and traditions of the past century.

With something for everyone, Belmont 16s Sailing Club is again cemented as a premier destination for entertainment, dining, and sailing in Lake Macquarie.
