Variety – the Children’s Charity NSW/ACT is calling on local businesses, community groups and fitness enthusiasts to help raise $100,000 for children in need by registering a team for the 10th anniversary of Variety Spin 4 Kids Newcastle.

The much-loved fundraising event will return to Newcastle Harbour Square on Friday 27 March, celebrating a decade of pedal power, teamwork and generosity from the Hunter region.

Variety NSW/ACT CEO Tony Warner said this year’s ambitious fundraising target will deliver life changing support to children who are sick, experiencing disadvantage or living with a disability.

“Reaching our 10th Variety Spin 4 Kids event in Newcastle is something we’re incredibly proud of,” he said.

“This event has grown year after year because of the unwavering support of the Newcastle community – local businesses, workplaces and individuals who continue to show up for kids and families who need it most.”

Variety Spin 4 Kids Newcastle is a heart-pumping challenge where teams of up to 10 spinners take turns on stationary bikes across five hours, raising vital funds while enjoying a fun, inclusive and high-energy atmosphere.

“What makes Variety Spin 4 Kids Newcastle so special is the sense of connection,” said Tony.

“Teams come together to challenge themselves, cheer each other on and fundraise with purpose. It’s great for workplace culture, but even more powerful because the funds raised help children access the equipment, therapy, and opportunities they need to thrive.”

Over the past decade, Spin 4 Kids Newcastle has raised more than $500,000, funding grants, scholarships, programs, and experiences for children facing significant barriers.

“Newcastle has always shown up with incredible heart,” said Tony.

“From the very first event to today, this community has embraced Variety Spin 4 Kids and made it their own.”

“We are deeply grateful for the long-standing support that has helped us reach this milestone, and we can’t wait to have the Newcastle community join us in making our 10th anniversary our biggest and best Spin event yet.”

Variety also thanks Major Event Sponsor, Newcastle Coal Infrastructure Group, for their ongoing support, along with NuSport The Forum, Acrobat Removals and MC Mike Wilkins, who have all supported Spin 4 Kids Newcastle for the past decade.

Teams are encouraged to register now, start fundraising and help Variety reach its $100,000 goal for the 2026 event.
