Teddy Bears Picnic at Hunter Region Botanic Gardens | Autumn School Holidays 2024

teddy bears picnic

A walk in the Gardens will show you how the seasons change, with all the autumn colours on show, contrasting with the collection of Australian native evergreens. The autumn planting Native Plant Sale is on 7 April, and the final grafting workshop until spring is on 13 April.

There are several workshops for kids, including a spotlight walk, kite-making, a kid’s art workshop, making beads from branches, and the Treasure Trove Trail daily.

The big event, of course, is the Teddy Bears Picnic on Tuesday, 16 April, from 10AM until 2PM. There is even a special teddy bear parade with the Marching Koalas Band this year!

• 10.30AM - Stories & Songs with Deb,

• 11.30AM - Teddy Bear Parade with the Marching Koalas Band,

• 12PM - Marching Koalas Band performance,

• 12.30PM - Bear Hunt Trail

• 1PM - Songs & Stories with Deb.

There will be face painting, a jumping castle, raffles, sausage sizzle, cookie decorating, a craft stall, fairy floss and markets, so bring a picnic, bring your friends, bring your family and don’t forget to bring your teddy bear! Just $5 per person for a whole day of fun.
