STREET EATS is coming to a location near you!

Get your family, friends and picnic rugs ready as Street Eats is returning to a suburb near you with some of your favourite vendors and a variety of new food trucks to try.

Each Street Eats will include a program of live music with free entry and ticketing currently not required. The first get together kicks off this coming Sunday 10 January from midday to 3.00pm at Queens Wharf, Morpeth, where Aqua Hire will also be available on the day.

More Street Eats will follow at Anzac Park in East Maitland on 15 January where at the same time Maitland Gaol is holding a one off experience to explore the secrets of the Gaol at night, Woodberry Playground on 5 February and Norm Chapman Oval in Rutherford on 26 February.

The normal programming for Street Eats will then continue across the city right up until June. Council’s Senior Place Activation Officer Portia Wendt says, "‘we’re hoping this will be a great way to get the community together in suburbs across the city in a COVID Safe way. For the Make it Maitland this summer program, we’ve included more Street Eats than usual and in more locations."

A comprehensive COVID-19 Safety Plan will be in place for all Council run events and activities. Council will continue to monitor and adhere to the advice from the Federal and State Governments, including any variation or modification of the public health orders. Street Eats is a Maitland City Council Place Activation initiative.

Additional Street Eats dates and locations willbe announced soon. For more information about Street Eats visit www.mymaitland.com.au/street-eats. For more information about the experience at Maitland Gaol and the full Make it Maitland this summer program visit www.mymaitland.com.au/summer.
