Simultaneous fireworks displays set to light up Lake Mac

Spectacular simultaneous fireworks displays will light up Lake Macquarie from end to end later this month as part of the annual Lake Mac Festival.

The 9pm displays on Saturday 22 January will ignite from pontoons off Warners Bay, Rathmines and Belmont and coincide with evening activities featuring live music, food trucks and entertainment.

Other live-sites will operate from Swansea Bay Beach, near Swansea Lakeside Holiday Park, and the Booragul foreshore. The Museum of Art and Culture, yapang is also hosting a special evening of entertainment.

Lake Macquarie Mayor Kay Fraser said the festival weekend would also include a free family breakfast* at Thomas H Halton Park, Croudace Bay on Saturday 22 January, with food provided by Carlos IGA Woodrising. The 8am-noon Saturday family fun day will feature games, face-painting and entertainment by The Little Scallywags and Hi-5 founding member Tim Harding. A laid-back afternoon of music, food and wine will also be held at Speers Point Park on Sunday 23 January.

“Events like the Lake Mac Festival are all about activating our local communities, bringing people together and providing a boost to local businesses and vendors,” Cr Fraser said.

The events will have a COVID-safe plan in place and will comply with all NSW Health regulations.

It is proudly sponsored by NSW Government’s The Festival of Place program and Carlo’s IGA Woodrising.
