Northstars Bounce Back Against Brisbane in Front of Sell Out Crowd
Northstars had a redeeming game at home on Sunday afternoon, defeating the Brisbane Lightning 7-4, including a hattrick from defence man Tanner Butler. The rescheduled game was a great stepping stone in getting the team back on track as we approach the season's final weeks.
Head Coach Kevin Noble
“We were better tonight. It was a good response to come out and win, and I think we’re getting closer to where we need to be as a team and our compete level.”
“We still have work to do, but there was progress tonight.”
“There were still too many penalties but now we need to look ahead and focus on next weekend. Against the Bears is another good test for us. Every game leading up to the playoffs will be time for us to get our game in order.”
Captain Liam Manwarring
“We needed to bounce back pretty quickly, and rightfully so, we did get the job done. It was still a tough game, but I think we’re a lot more composed and that’s something we’ve been talking about, and I am proud of the boys for how they bounced back.”
“The sun came up today and it was a new day, we got the three points and I am so proud of how the boys backed up and turned things around today.”
“We’re down to the pointy end now and we’ve obviously got a great group of guys and some really good players but right now it’s all about hard work and showing up week in and week out doing the right small things to win the championships.”
“I think the next three weeks is very important for us as a club, to play a good brand of hockey going into finals.”
