First Tix On Sale Now! 100+ Events, 40+ Artists, 10 Venues, 5 Days

March 17 – 21, 2021

Earlier this year, Newcastle Fringe had an exciting festival planned with artists coming from all over the globe. Two days before the opening, covid really hit home and the entire festival had to be cancelled.

Fast forward to now and the festival has just finished programming what will be an event that is now 50% bigger than the last Newcastle Fringe that was held. With 100+ events, including 40+ different artists and performers, in 10 venues over 5 days plus a week of #bingethefringe after, the Newcastle Fringe Festival can confidently say it has grown up and is punching way above its weight.

The Fringe team have been busy creating a program that really delivers on support of the arts and individual artists. They’ve extended the art genres that usually apply to fringe to now include the following new initiatives:

  • Fringe for Families @ The Station – a weekend of family friendly fun that will include markets, artist installations and performances and workshops for all the family;

  • Fringe Film Festival @ Event Cinemas Kotara;

  • Visual art exhibition @ Watt Space Gallery;

  • A series of workshops run by artists or for artist development – including workshops for kids and adults;

  • Streaming on demand from the last day of the festival for one week - #bingethefringe;

  • Fringe @ Lizottes – 3 nights of fringe mayhem and fun with tickets on sale now!

The first tickets are now on sale. Fringe @ Lizottes is an exciting new partnership between Newcastle Fringe and the legendary Lizottes. Due to covid, the fringe had to consider different venues and Lizottes was a natural fit with the advantage of growing the fringe out to the suburbs of Newcastle.

The remaining program with shows at venues such as The Royal Exchange, The Carrington Bowling Club, WEA CAS, Uniting Church Adamstown & The Dungeon, Base, Gallipoli Club, The Grand Hotel and The Station will go on sale before Christmas through www.newcastlefringe.com.au The best way to keep in touch is by joining the Fringe e-news via their website or finding them on Facebook and Instagram @newcastlefringe.
