Let the Good Times Roll: Live at the Levee Spills Out Onto the Streets This February

Dave Wells, Live at the Levee.

Part of Central Maitland’s The Levee Shared Zone will be transformed into a hustling, bustling street party on Sunday 26 February, with live tunes, food trucks and a pop up bar from a local Maitland microbrewery.

After the runaway success of Changing Tides in January, LIVE at The Levee returns for Street Party from 4.30pm Sunday 26 February. The event will take place at The Levee Shared Zone between Bulwer and Elgin Street.

Two local acts – The High Andies and Dave Wells – will soundtrack the evening with a mix of melodic folk rock, mesmeric jazz and groovy country and western tunes.

Hunter based singer songwriter Wells says he’s excited to play a mix of both old and new material, including his latest single ‘Hey Mate’, to a lively local crowd.

‘I’ve spent the last few years working on new material, out of a studio in Byron Bay with American producer Nick DiDia – it’s a real mix of emotive alt rock, and darker, more acoustic tracks that are sonically sparse’.

‘Working with Nick was a great experience. We took a live, simplistic approach that focused purely on the uniqueness, emotive character and sonic delivery of each song’.

‘So get on your dancing shoes, and join me and The High Andies for four hours of great tunes during LIVE at The Levee.’

In addition to the music, punters can expect to tuck into some tasty treats, with food trucks serving everything from Vietnamese and American cuisine to refreshing gelato and many local eateries opening late to cater to the crowds.

Wash it down with a glass of locally brewed beer, courtesy of Aberglasslyn based microbrewery The Dusty Miner, whose pop up bar at Maitland events is always a firm favourite.
