Get ready to laugh until it hurts as Australia's most iconic comedy tour rolls into Cessnock this June!
The Melbourne International Comedy Festival Roadshow is bringing the best acts from the 2025 festival directly to Performance Arts Culture Cessnock (PACC) on Thursday, 5 June at 7:30pm – the perfect way to kick off the long weekend with a bang.
Now in its impressive 27th year, the Roadshow has become a comedy institution, delivering top-tier humour to over 80 destinations nationwide. This year's stellar line-up features some of the brightest stars from Melbourne's comedy scene, guaranteeing an evening of side-splitting entertainment that will have you "wiping tears away and wheezing from the sheer joy," as Australian Stage perfectly put it.
Leading the charge as MC is Sydney's Harry Jun, the beloved host of ABC's Good Game, who has garnered millions of views across YouTube and TikTok. Joining him is Alex Ward, the whip-smart comedian known for her regular appearances on Have You Been Paying Attention? and her writing work on The Project. Her approachable humour makes even her most personal stories feel universally relatable.
Comedy legend Danielle Walker brings her signature off-beat style to the stage. The Far North Queensland native has had an incredible journey since moving to Melbourne in 2015, winning Raw Comedy in 2016, snagging Best Newcomer at MICF in 2018, and most recently taking out the first season of Taskmaster Australia.
Rounding out this incredible cast are Zack Dyer, the laid-back North Queenslander whose absurd observations and working-class bogan family stories have made him a festival favourite since winning Triple J's RAW comedy in 2017, and UK import Paddy Young, whose sharp wit and viral sketches have earned him international acclaim.
The two-hour, 20-minute show (including interval) promises something for everyone's sense of humour. As The Sunday Times noted, the Melbourne Comedy Festival Roadshow "has everyone's humour covered."
Whether you're a comedy connoisseur or simply need a good laugh after a long week, this is your chance to experience the best of Australian comedy without leaving the Hunter Valley. Tickets are available now through the PACC Box Office on (02) 4993 4266 or online at www.mypacc.com.au
