Katy Steele: THIS IS ME, UNDRESSED

Katy Steele is coming to Lake Mac, and she’s trading the amps for the honest truth.
Fresh from a successful national run of UNDRESSED shows, she’s bringing her intimate show to regional Australia, with a stop at Warners Bay Theatre, baramayiba on Saturday 31 October.
Before embarking on a solo career, she was the fearless voice of Little Birdy, the band that made her a star from the start. She grew up in front of the whole country, touring the world and releasing three studio albums: BigBigLove, Hollywood and Confetti. Relapse put the band on the map, entered the ARIA charts and finished 2003 in the triple j Hottest 100. The ARIA nominations kept coming, and those songs still soundtrack the lives of many Australians.
When Little Birdy went on hiatus, Katy moved to New York to focus on songwriting and production. The move helped shape her sound as a solo artist and led to her first solo album, Human, in 2016. A decade on, Katy is still on the road and still making solo records, with a new album on the horizon and that signature upbeat, energetic pop nostalgia intact.
In 2026, she’s looking back with THIS IS ME, UNDRESSED, taking songs from across her career and playing them unplugged, with just voice, piano and guitar.
Raw. Honest. Unplugged.
The show follows the release of her limited-edition Undressed album, and gives those songs a live, unplugged setting.
In a stripped-back duo setting, the songs return to their purest form. Katy is known for the soaring anthems of Little Birdy and the richly layered production of her solo work. The pared-back setting puts her voice and songwriting front and centre.
The Undressed album is a conscious unravelling of everything she has released before. It features stripped-back versions of her solo songs and much-loved Little Birdy favourites, including Relapse, Beautiful To Me and Stay Wild. Alongside them sit covers of some of the most revered songs of the modern era, including works by Patti Smith, Lou Reed, The Smiths and Michael Jackson.
Some are just piano and vocal with a few harmonies. Katy calls it raw and liberating, and the songs are better for it. Without the production to lean on, what’s left is the voice and the story behind each song.

Unmistakable voice
If there’s one thing you’ll remember about Katy Steele, it’s that voice. Powerful, melodic and full of character. She’s a creative chameleon and a true one-off, with almost two decades in the Australian music industry and no sign of slowing down.
Hailing from Perth, Katy comes from a family of musicians. Her father is blues legend Rick Steele, and her brother is Luke Steele of The Sleepy Jackson and Empire of the Sun. Her own sound runs from The Pretenders to Blondie and Fleetwood Mac, with a love of melodic pop running through it all.
Last year, Little Birdy reunited to play BigBigLove in full on a national tour, after 15 years apart. It was a big moment for the band and for the fans who never thought they’d see it.
One night only
Whether you grew up on Little Birdy, have followed Katy’s solo career, or are hearing these songs for the first time, this is a night to hear them live. One night, one voice, nothing in the way. Honest, immersive and moving.
