.

Lake Macquarie City Council’s eggs-cellent school holiday program is set to put a hop in the step of kids across the city, with bookings now open for a range of entertainment and activities.

Lifelong Learning and Audience Engagement Coordinator Kirrily Anderson said this year’s program included a hands-on magic workshop, craft sessions, a MineCraft-inspired Lego workshop and digital drawing sessions.

“We’ve lined up a range of accessible, affordable events designed to excite and inspire kids of all ages,” she said.

The holiday program kicks off with The Great MAC Easter Egg Hunt on Sunday 9 April.

Set on the grassy shores of the Museum of Art and Culture, yapang, the celebration will include the egg hunt, artmaking workshops, performances by The Amazing Jono and access to the Archibald Prize 2022 Regional Tour exhibition.

Lake Mac Libraries will be putting smiles on the faces of creative and constructive kids, with digital drawing lessons, craft sessions, Lego building and more.

For music enthusiasts, Rathmines Theatre, nawayiba, will host Hot Potato Band on Saturday 15 April, with the brass collective bringing fresh energy to children’s concerts.

“This quirky and interactive performance will entertain all ages with their reinvention of the traditional New Orleans brass style,” Ms Anderson said.

Lake Macquarie Mayor Kay Fraser said school holidays were a wonderful time to get children involved with events happening around the city.

“It’s a chance for kids to meet new friends, get creative and learn new skills in their community,” she said.
