Join Sea Sheppard for an inspiring screening of David Attenborough’s The Ocean, a breathtaking journey into the life and wonders of our oceans and discover the hidden beauty and fragile ecosystems of the ocean and how to help protect it.
Sea Shepherd Australia invites locals to a free community screening of Ocean with David Attenborough on Saturday, 27 September 2025, 3:30–6:30 pm at The Place, Charlestown Community Centre.
In the film, David Attenborough explores the planet's undersea habitats, revealing the greatest age of ocean discovery and emphasising the ocean's vital importance while exposing its problems and highlighting opportunities for marine life recovery.
Following the screening, Sea Shepherd will share urgent insights about Marine Protected Areas (MPAs) in the Southern Ocean, deep dive into the organisation’s recent Antarctic campaigns, including efforts to establish Marine Protected Areas in the Southern Ocean to protect krill and the wider ecosystem from industrial fishing. Learn what’s at stake and how you can help defend marine life from overfishing and industrial threats and take action to protect these critical habitats.
