Maitland City Council is now accepting applications for its Community Grants Program, which offers funding for local initiatives to enhance Maitland's social, cultural and recreational landscape.

The program, open from 9 October to 20 November, provides two key funding streams: the Community Projects Grants Program and the Community Celebrations Grants Program, both aimed at strengthening the local community.

‘Our Community Grants Program empowers local groups to help build a stronger, more vibrant Maitland,’ says Maitland City Council Coordinator Community and Recreation Planning Whitney Hainey.

‘Whether it's a project designed to improve residents' wellbeing or an event that brings people together to celebrate our diverse culture, these grants offer support to make those ideas a reality.’

In this round of grants, Council is also launching the new SmartyGrants system – a digital platform designed to make the application process more accessible and efficient for all applicants.

‘We are continually looking for ways to make our grant process more accessible and inclusive. The introduction of SmartyGrants will provide a more user friendly option for applicants and allow us to better manage the assessment process,’ Ms Hainey says.

‘Applicants will still be able to apply for our grants program by downloading the application form via our website while we transition to SmartyGrants.’

See below for more information on the two funding streams. For more information on the Bi Annual grant program and to apply, visit mait.city/Bi-AnnualGrantPrograms
