Bitter and Twisted Boutique Beer Festival is Back and Bitterer than Ever in 2022

intouch Magazine

Tickets go on sale at midday (Friday 5 August) for the Bitter and Twisted Boutique Beer Festival, which returns to the grounds of Maitland Gaol on 5 and 6 November 2022, and pairs a stellar smorgasbord of lip smacking craft beers with a program of national indie acts.

Heading this year's bumper line up is Sydney alternative indie rock band Middle Kids, who picked up an ARIA award for Best Rock Album, following the release of their most recent record, ‘Today We’re The Greatest’, in March last year.

Award winning four piece roots collective The Beautiful Girls, who boast half a million album sales and 50 million Spotify streams, will headline Sunday’s program.

Joining our headline acts on the Bitter and Twisted 2022 line up are Good Lekker, soul ska group Fat Picnic, as well as The Dead Maggies, Liquid Zoo, Austin Mackay Chris Cavill and Newcastle based singer songwriter BERLYN.

Maitland City Council Team Leader Events Tori Evans says 'After a two year hiatus, we can’t wait to be back at Maitland Gaol this November.

‘Bitter and Twisted has certainly cemented its place on the annual events calendar for fans of great music and people passionate about quality craft beer. Where else in Australia can you enjoy over 80 craft beers and your favourite tunes in a former maximum security prison?'

In addition to the music and craft beer, there are a range of food stalls and other activities across the event site, as well as add ons that visitors can purchase to make their day even more memorable.

These include Beer Trivia, Private Cell Blocks for you and your best mates and Beer and Cheese Matching sessions, just to name a few.

‘There's something truly unique about Bitter and Twisted, which this year will be bigger and bitterer than ever,’ Ms Evans said.

Bitter and Twisted is an 18+ only event on Saturday 5 November, with all ages permitted on Sunday 6 November (under 18’s must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times).

Tickets for Bitter and Twisted Boutique Beer Festival will go on sale on the Bitter and Twisted website at midday tomorrow, Friday 5 August (International Beer Day).
