Accelerate Ensemble Present Electrifying Celebration in Original Performance Party Party Boom Boom
3-4 November at the Playhouse, Tantrum Youth Arts and Civic Theatre present Accelerate Ensemble in their first original live performance work Party Party Boom Boom, an electrifying celebration of the art of celebration.
Party Party Boom Boom is the result of the successful Take the Stage matched fundraising campaign, with thanks to Creative Partnerships Australia through Plus1, which raised $40,000 for the Accelerate Ensemble – Tantrum's training ground for artists with disability – to create their first original live performance work.
Accelerate Ensemble member Angela Kowalski said, “Creating this show has been challenging but a lot of fun. We have had to come up with ways that we can show each of our talents, and we are all talented.
“As Accelerate Ensemble we perform on stage at the Civic Playhouse and we want you to be our audience. We are excited and want to make everyone happy and full of laughter. We want to show you how we have worked together as a team to have a good show.”
Party Party Boom Boom follows the stories of six party people in pursuit of their own ultimate night out - or in. Through original music, movement and storytelling Accelerate Ensemble use Party Party Boom Boom to delve into the tapestry of dreams and the power of parties.
Civic Theatre Manager Leonie Wallace said “We are excited to be presenting Accelerate Ensemble’s first original live performance.
“It is important that diverse perspectives are given a platform on our stages, and our continuing partnership with Tantrum Youth Arts and Accelerate Ensemble allows such stories to be nurtured and shared.”
Accelerate Ensemble have previously worked with Geelong’s award-winning Back to Back Theatre to produce film work Radial, presented as part of New Annual in 2022.
Party Party Boom Boom is on at the Playhouse, 3-4 November 2023.
