Stories have a way of staying with us, especially those filled with a little chaos, a lot of imagination, and just enough silliness to feel unforgettable.
From writer Andy Griffiths (The Treehouse series) comes a new theatrical book adaptation that delights in absurdity, exciting adventures and clever problem-solving. YOU and ME have lost something important. Well… actually, lots of things. A guinea pig. A lucky rabbit’s foot. Possibly even the plot!
What follows is a wild quest through the Land of Lost Things—a world of snapping turtles, flying socks, treasure-hungry pirates and one very anxious bull. It’s a fast-paced journey of unlikely characters, mysterious landscapes and hilarious challenges.
In the lead-up to the performance, Civic Theatre is extending this sense of discovery beyond the stage through partnerships with local libraries and Newcastle Museum. Families are invited to take part in creative activities and storytelling sessions that explore the story in new ways, from illustration workshops to hands-on suit-making.
These experiences are designed to build a connection between the story and the audience, and between young people and the arts. By engaging before you arrive at the theatre, the journey begins long before the curtain rises.
Get ready for action, imagination, and extremely questionable navigation. And whatever you do… don’t lose your ticket!
