50th Jubilee Long Lunch at Briar Ridge Vineyard

To help celebrate 50 years in the Hunter Valley wine industry, Briar Ridge Vineyard is celebrating in style with their biggest event of the decade.

This is an event that wine lovers won’t want to miss and there are just a few tickets left to sell to the public, with most sold to the loyal Briar Ridge wine club members and important contributors to Briar Ridge. This long lunch will be an event to remember.

Expect to see the weird, wild and wonderful side of Briar Ridge followed by the release of the NEW single vineyard range and other museum vintages showcased throughout the day by award-winning winemaker and Riedel 2022 Hunter Valley Young Achiever of the Year, Alex Beckett. Indulge in a three-course menu prepared by two-hatted restaurant, Muse Restaurant, then dance the afternoon away with Newcastle jazz ‘supergroup’ Fish Fry.

With a theme inspired by European circus, with lots of surprise entertainment in store for diners, there are also prizes to be won and each ticket includes transfers to and from Pokolbin, Lovedale and Cessnock areas. A charity auction will also take place during the luncheon with proceeds going to John Hunter Children's Hospital. Auction items will include accommodation, wine and food experiences. Learn what it means to be ‘classically radical’ and reward your curiosity at this stunning event. This is a long lunch for those ‘in the know’.

At the recent 2023 Halliday Wine Companion Awards, Briar Ridge was presented with not only the trophy for ‘White (& Blends) Wine of the Year with the 2021 Limited Release Albariño but also a red star winery rating. A red star rating is awarded to an outstanding winery regularly producing wines of exemplary quality and typicity.

In addition, the 2021 ‘Briar Hill’ Chardonnay also won the ‘Hunter Valley Best of Region’ trophy in the James Halliday Chardonnay and Cabernet Challenge which is a competition and celebration of Australia’s incredible regional attributes. The winery has also been awarded a gold medal at the recent Hunter Valley Wine Show for the 2013 Stockhausen Signature Semillon.
