INVEST in YOURSELF!

Investing in yourself is probably one of the best investments you can make. Whether it’s investing in learning a new skill, developing yourself personally or professionally, tapping into your creativity or even hiring a coach, you’ll receive a great return on investment.
You must first give to yourself, learn to love yourself, take the time and the responsibility to develop as a human, all your gifts and talents, to be the best versions of yourself. Remember F.L.Y – First Love Yourself!
With our busy lifestyles and the constant outside/social influences and expectations, this can be difficult.
So – let’s start with motivation.
Motivation is difficult to maintain, so here are my ten tips to keep it going!
Set goals and be specific! Start with a goal – e.g. lose 10kgs or 'tone up'. Then set a timeline to achieve this by, this keeps you accountable.
Get an exercise training plan. Whether you are a beginner or have been training for a while, make a plan! Write down your sessions, speak with a trainer or mentor, get as much advice as possible (google is always helpful).
Be careful of overtraining. Don’t overdo it! Listen to your body; if you are feeling sore, tired or run down, REST and RECOVER!
Adopt exercise role models. This explains itself, choose your favourite influencer, print out pictures, quotes, stick them around your house, at your workplace anywhere that you will see them. Social media - Start filling your feed with positive people with similar interest and goals.
Record your progress. Keep track of how far you’ve come; sometimes you forget to pause and take a look at what you have already achieved, be proud!
Cross-train. Change it up! Try something new, be spicy!
Go shopping. Let’s get real, who doesn’t feel good in new activewear?! Treat yourself – You deserve it.
Have a treat. Remember to slip in a treat once a week; try not to completely cut out your favourites.
Track yourself with technology or an app. There are so many cool devices to track yourself with, a watch, or an app on your phone.
Visualise! Remember to see yourself, your best self, crossing that line and smashing your goal! Believe in yourself, and you can achieve anything!
Then fuel your body
Fuelling your body isn’t just nutrition/dieting, although a good diet filled with yummy, nutrient-rich foods can make a world of difference. When you focus on eating organic and healthier choices, you will feel better – it’s proven, and you’ll have more energy! Who doesn’t want that?
If you’re like me, that yummy looking burger or doughnut (doughnuts are my weakness) will provide instant gratification, but leave you feeling guilty. Schedule that cheat day, so you’re not missing out! What you read, what you listen to, what you watch, who you surround yourself with – these are all examples of ‘fuel.’
Train your mind, challenge yourself, and if you’re unsure about something, then educate yourself. Read that book, read that article, watch that documentary, listen to a podcast, attend that seminar or workshop.
It’s also important who you let into your circle, your sanctuary. After all – you are the average of the five people you spend the most time with.
Time is priceless
Use your time wisely – it’s valuable, it’s free, and it’s priceless. You can’t own it, but you can use it; you can’t keep it, but you can spend it, and once you have used it or lost it, you can never get it back.
Time is precious, never waste a second and use your time wisely! Do things that make you happy that improve your worth, your net value, that fill up your cup. Remember F.L.Y – First Love Yourself!
