There will be art, design, coffee and treats in the Western end of Civic Park- closest to Auckland St- as well as in the Darby St end of the park. Join us for a day full of creative, good food, live music and fun! We look forward to seeing you on Saturday!
Every month we strive to bring you the very best locally created work, which has been ethically produced by our talented collective of over 130 contemporary artists, designers, and street food purveyors, alongside live music and free activities. Providing a platform to support Newcastle's creative community, and the wider Australian handmade community, over the last decade has been the huge driving force, and ethos behind our event. The other is creating a free community focused event that welcomes all members of our community- that includes you! A little Gypsy in My Soul Maria Vantsos, otherwise known as A Little Gypsy In My Soul, creates bold, rich, fine art photography which celebrates the raw essence and aesthetic beauty of colour and culture from around the world 🌏 Maria's work is deeply personal, and reflects her journey through places she is strongly connection to- Greece, Morocco, and India and regular features. Maria will be showcasing her latest collection of canvas prints and wooden tiles on June 1st. Dogswood Botanical Jarrod and Gordon are partners in art and life and the creators of Dogswood Botanical. Think timeless, textured, lightweight, range of handmade pots, and planters, which feature their gorgeous farm grown planter. If you love cool Australia home wares, and are a fan of featuring illustration and typography in your home, then you will love the prints and home wares created by artist Greg Miller of Burbia. we are big fans of Greg's tea towels, which also make great affordable art works stretched on canvas or even framed. Like this one featuring our strange and wonderful Australian animals. Burbia's range also make great gifts to send to overseas to show a little of our quirky humour and to showcase Australian design. Our artists and makers are constantly experimenting and creating new work to feature at The Olive Tree Market. We are in awe of the recent tones in the ceramic home wares that artisan Lyndal, of Henry and Tunks, has been creating with her clever use of glazes. If you are lover of beautiful, locally made ceramic design, then make sure to visit Henry & Tunks and discover the makers range of plates, mugs, keep cups, and planters, on June 1st.

Think cakes and cookies from Fif La Femme, the prettiest of pastries by Covered in Crumbs, bagels to die for by Brooklyn Boy Bagels, gluten free donuts from GF Donuts, amazing gluten free cakes and slices by Soul Foods, vegan muffins by The Muffin Mob. And yes! Choux Patisserie is back- they sure were missed last month! Driving to the Olive Tree Market on June 1st? Read on for hot tips! There is parking in Newcastle! If you are driving to The Olive Tree Market there is flat rate parking at the Civic West Car Park, entrance Gibson Street, for $6.50 or HarbourPark Car Park has flat rate $5. There is also FREE Parking at the Newcastle City Council Mall Car Park- 92 king St. Or better still walk, ride, jump on the tram, or take public transport, and keep our city green!
