Skate, Socialise or Spectate at Hunter Ice Skating Stadium
Hunter Ice Skating Stadium is a hub of entertainment and activities throughout the entire week.
There are public skate sessions, learn-to-skate classes, and learn-to-play hockey classes, and the Coffee Club meets at 9:15am on Tuesday mornings.
This session is tailor-made for skaters of all levels, presenting a perfect blend of leisure and social catchups. Welcoming individuals of all ages, this event allows participants to start their day with a dose of physical activity and the opportunity to mingle and share stories over coffee.
Looking for a skate that’s a little extra? Friday Night Skate sessions are for you. It's not just about the music, it's about you being the DJ. Powered by Crowd DJ, you get to pick the beats. Swift? Rodrigo? Styles? Maybe a bit of metal or some EDM bangers? It’s all up to you. When you combine this interactive music experience with disco lights, the rink transforms into a dynamic dance floor on ice, making Friday Night Skates at HISS unmissable events for anyone looking to kickstart their weekend in style.
The action doesn’t stop there. During the July school holidays from Sunday, 7 July to Friday, 12 July, lace up your skates between 11.30am and 2.00pm for bonus public skate sessions.
And in week two of the school holidays, come along and watch the Ice Hockey Australia National Championships. This is a limited-time opportunity to witness the intense competition as teams from NSW, QLD, ACT, VIC, SA, and WA compete across four divisions: Under 13, Under 15, Under 18, and Women's. Games will be played every day at the Hunter Ice Skating Stadium between 12 and 21 July.
With just four home games left in the 2024 Australian Ice Hockey League season for the Newcastle Northstars, don’t miss your opportunity to be a part of all the live action by purchasing your tickets from https://northstars.thundertix.com.
