Let's Fish Lake Mac

CATCH BIG AND WIN BIG AT LET’S FISH 2022!

Fishing fans of all ages are invited to head to Lake Macquarie for the weekend of 12-13 November for the region’s famous fishing competition, Let’s Fish Lake Mac, and the bigger the catch, the bigger the prize on offer.

All entrants in this year’s family-friendly catch and release fishing event will go in the draw to win a share of the $32,000 prize pool…whether they actually hook anything or not!

Major prizes (1st to 4th) will be awarded for both kids and grown-ups for categories including the biggest fish caught (and released) for each species, as well as the fish deemed closest to the ‘mystery’ length. Entrants must photograph their catch, then release it…and try to catch a bigger one.

Lake Macquarie is renowned as a fun fishing destination, with plenty of sweet spots to try in the search for bream, whiting, flathead, and tailor, including from a boat on the lake, at the beach, or on the lake’s shore.

Visit the event’s Where Can I Fish? page for more information and tips on top spots to enjoy some good-spirited fishing rivalry with your family and friends.

This year’s competition area incorporates the tidal waters of Lake Macquarie, as well as all public beaches in the Lake Macquarie City Council area, including Blacksmiths Beach, Catherine Hill Bay Beach, Caves Beach, Dudley Beach, and Redhead Beach, which are also perfect picks to enjoy the warmer weather and unwind with family after a day focused on fishing.

Home to more than 16 kilometres of coastline, and a lake twice the size of Sydney Harbour, Lake Macquarie is a fishing fan’s paradise, with hundreds of inlets and secret spots to try among its jetties, foreshores, island bays and caves.

Don't miss this fun and family-friendly event! Entries for Let's Fish Lake Mac are now open. Find more information and register at www.letsfishlakemac.com.au
