The Hunter Valley's most beloved festive tradition returns this November, as the Christmas Lights Spectacular transforms Hunter Valley Gardens into a glittering wonderland of holiday enchantment. From 7 November to 26 January, over four and half million dazzling lights will illuminate eight acres of stunning landscapes, creating the perfect backdrop for unforgettable family memories.
This year's spectacular introduces exciting new attractions that promise to delight visitors of all ages. The brand-new HO HO Harvest area and The Evergreen Tavern join the dazzling display, while the interactive Nutcracker Storytime offers children the chance to meet beloved characters and become part of the classic tale.
On select evenings throughout the event, roaming performers including stilt walkers, a talented unicycling juggler, and the elegant Lollipop Lyra aerial act will captivate audiences, while the vibrant Felix Quinn Band fills the air with festive favourites.
"We love this time of the year and look forward to seeing new and familiar faces experience the magic of Christmas," says Julie Pettit, Hunter Valley Gardens' Group Operations Manager.
"With thrilling rides, epic displays, and live shows, we are excited to be part of making unforgettable family memories over the Christmas and summer period."
The event offers something for everyone, from adrenaline-pumping rides such as the Ferris Wheel, Superslide, and Spinning Teacups, to quieter moments for capturing precious memories with Santa (available until 24 December). Food lovers can indulge in an array of festive treats, from samosas, burgers and traditional German hotdogs to artisanal fairy floss.
The celebration reaches new heights on New Year's Eve with a spectacular fireworks display at 9pm, lighting up the night sky in a dazzling family friendly display.
Located just under an hour from Newcastle on Broke Road in Pokolbin, the Christmas Lights Spectacular opens nightly from 5:30pm to 10:30pm, with rides operating from 6pm. Tickets start at $31 for children and $41 for adults, with family packages and day/night tickets available. Accommodation packages at nearby Mercure Hunter Valley Gardens and Harrigan's Hunter Valley offer the perfect opportunity to extend your magical experience.
