HIA Hunter Region Appoints New President

Paul Le Mottee, Managing Director at the Le Mottee Group and Deputy Mayor of Port Stephens Council was earlier this week elected the President of the Housing Industry Association (HIA) Hunter Region.

“A Hunter based surveyor and certifier with over 30 years’ experience Paul has become the HIA Hunter’s 6th Regional President”, said Craig Jennion, HIA Hunter Executive Director.

“For the next two years Paul, along with newly elected Vice-President Greg Doodson of Suncoast Bathroom Renovations and 10 other HIA members, will form the Hunter Regional Executive Committee”, said Mr Jennion.

“The role of the Regional Executive Committee it is to represent the local region, assist in the development of HIA policies and provide a local forum to deal with regional issues”.

“With a strong understanding of the challenges those in the residential building and construction industry face I'm certain that Paul will successfully lead the industry diverse HIA Hunter Regional Executive Committee”, Mr Jennion said.

“It is a great honour to be elected to lead the HIA Hunter Regional Executive Committee and I hope to build on the legacy of previous Hunter Region Presidents by strengthening the capacity and capability of both the Association and its members.” said Mr Le Mottee.

“I look forward to working with the new Hunter Regional Executive Committee to develop policies and approaches that ensure that we retain a competitive residential housing industry, something which is critical to the economic wellbeing and growth of not only the Hunter but NSW more broadly”, concluded Mr Le Mottee.
