Christmas spirit alive and well in Chisholm

Members of the Chisholm community gathered to celebrate the festive season and connect with their neighbours on Saturday 12 December, after what has been a challenging 2020 for most.

The streets of Waterford and Harvest came alive with the sound of music at AVID Property Group’s (AVID) annual Christmas event, where residents enjoyed COVID-safe pop-up performances by local and regional artists Daniel Arvidson, Dave Carter, Luke Power and Wez Thompson.

AVID Property Group Project Director New South Wales, Nathan Huon said it was more important than ever before to hold the annual event this year.

“This is a tradition our residents look forward to all year and we are so pleased we were able to proceed with the event and bring Christmas cheer to the streets of Waterford and Harvest,” Mr Huon said.

“It has been a tough year for many, so it was essential for our team to give our community the opportunity to come together in a safe environment and connect with family and friends.

“Our event looked a little different this year due to COVID-19, with Christmas themed street performances at several locations across the communities, rather than one main stage, so residents were able to gather in smaller groups outdoors and enjoy the entertainment.

“The winners of our Christmas Lights competition were also be drawn on the night with $1,100 worth of VISA gift cards awarded to the top five decorators in the neighbourhood – our way of thanking our residents for helping spread the Christmas spirit.”

Santa and his elves made an appearance at each of the pop-up performance sites throughout the evening, surprising the youngest residents of Waterford and Harvest with sweet treats.
