Chipmunks Playland & Café Belmont is a large indoor children’s play centre located at 1 High Street, Belmont, on the site of the former Belmont Bowling Club. The venue was fully repurposed and refurbished into a two-level indoor playland and café, designed for children aged 0–11 years.
One of the key features of Chipmunks is its unlimited-play model. Entry includes all-day access for the day of entry, allowing children to play for as long as they like without hourly time limits, provided they do not leave the venue.
Age-Appropriate Play Zones
The centre is designed with three dedicated age zones to ensure safe and enjoyable play for all children:
Baby Zone (0–2 years): A soft-play area with foam flooring, ball pit, sensory and puzzle walls, soft ride-on toys and a soft brick playhouse.
Mini Zone (0–4 years): A toddler play area featuring a play tower, slides and interactive soft play equipment, all on foam flooring.
Main Zone (5–11 years): A large adventure playground featuring a giant ball pit with interactive elements, rope nets, tunnels, bridges, climbing structures and slides spread across two levels.
The playground spans both levels of the building and can be accessed from upstairs and downstairs.
Café and Food Options
Chipmunks Belmont includes an on-site café offering a wide range of food and drinks for children and adults alike. The café serves barista coffee, kids' meals, pizzas, wraps, burgers, salads, and snacks, with options suitable for younger children, including yoghurt, and dietary options such as gluten-free items. Outside food is not permitted.
There is seating available on both levels, and the upstairs level offers views overlooking Lake Macquarie. The upstairs area can be accessed via stairs, lift, or through the playground.

For larger groups, Chipmunks also offers private venue hire, suitable for birthday parties, school groups, sports groups and functions, with both catered and self-catered options available.
School Holidays and Events
During school holidays and at various times throughout the year, Chipmunks Belmont runs special activities and themed events such as face painting, ice cream decorating, character visits and themed activity days. The venue also hosts special evening events throughout the year, including themed parties such as Halloween discos, Christmas parties and Easter events. Chipmunks Playland & Café Belmont is a popular destination for school excursions, OOSH groups, preschools and daycare visits. The centre provides a safe, fully enclosed indoor environment where children can participate in active play that supports gross motor development, social interaction and confidence building. Groups can visit during school term and quieter periods, with the option to pre-book to help manage group sizes. Chipmunks can accommodate small and large groups, and the venue includes accessible facilities, seating areas for educators and on-site food options. The all-day play model makes it an easy and flexible excursion option, and the different age zones ensure activities are suitable for a wide range of ages and abilities.
Merchandise
Chipmunks also sells merchandise, including drink bottles, activity books, clothing, pencil cases and Charlie Chipmunk plush toys, which can also be added to certain party packages.
