There’s no better place to soak up the festive spirit this summer than Civic Theatre Newcastle, where music, theatre, and community come together in the heart of the city’s cultural precinct.
This December, the Civic Theatre is brimming with opportunities to gather, connect, and celebrate. From the choral majesty of Handel’s Messiah at City Hall (14 December) to the dazzling, feel-good hit Kinky Boots lighting up the Civic Theatre stage (18–21 December), there’s something for everyone.
Then, on 22 December, the celebration spills outdoors with One Song Sing. A joyful community singalong in Wheeler Place that’s fast becoming a beloved Newcastle tradition. This year’s ‘Last Christmas’ mashup combines Billie Eilish’s Birds of a Feather with Wham!’s Last Christmas and promises plenty of festive cheer. Everyone’s welcome to join in - no experience needed. Registrations are free and now open, so be sure to secure your spot early.
If you’re stuck for ideas, why not add a little drama to the Festive Season and give the gift of live performance? Purchase a Civic Theatre Gift Voucher, redeemable for any live performance, all year round.
