There’s no doubt about it, charitable organisations and not-for-profits are having a tough time right now. The public needs their help more than ever, but the people and businesses that usually assist these causes only have so much money to give. And in light of the economic downturn caused by Covid-19, that’s also diminishing on a daily basis.

With this in mind, intouch Magazine is launching the #LendLocally campaign to raise awareness of local charities and not-for-profits that could use a bit of assistance – whether it be through additional volunteers, a helping-hand, donated items or by raising much-needed funding.

Intouch Magazine is asking locals to nominate their favourite charity or not-for-profit organisation. They’ll then get the word out and raise awareness and support for their cause by informing the broader community about the extraordinary work these groups are doing and what support they need to keep on doing it.

Each month intouch Magazine will shine their significant spotlight on the most outstanding nominated cause and give it the recognition it needs in the form of an editorial piece across all their platforms – the magazine, online, in e-Newsletters to subscribers and across their social media platforms.

“We’ve been supporting the local community with our free local print magazines and online local news services for almost 15 years, so we’re constantly hearing amazing stories and witnessing first-hand the inspirational work of some of our local charities and non-profit groups,” said intouch Magazine’s Managing Editor, Di von Essen.

“While we regularly publish these stories, we feel that now, more than ever, it’s vital that we support these causes more substantially – by bringing the local community together to rally behind them,” she said.

“The intouch team will blast out the call for help to the Hunter region and make sure that these hard-working and inspirational groups have a voice in these unusual times (and beyond). Keep an eye out for some great causes that we can all feel passionate about – lend a hand, lend a buck, lend a skill – lend whatever you can - just #LendLocally.”
