Music Lover's Paradise Returns in 2020

One of the Hunter Valley’s most cherished cultural escapes, The Gum Ball, returns in 2020 for three days of discovery over the school holidays, 24–26th April, in its 15th year of operation. Held at Dashville, an idyllic bushland property at Lower Belford, Hunter Valley, the family-friendly jamboree brings some of the best musical acts from around the globe and showcases them in an intimate setting, alongside stand-up comedy, pro-skateboarding, markets, workshops, camping and much more.

The first taste of The Gum Ball’s musical program for 2020 is headlined by Australian rock royalty, The Church. About to enter their 40th year as a band, The Church is now set to make their debut appearance on the hallowed soil of Dashville. It will undoubtedly be a moment to remember when the haunting strains of Under the Milky Way, and other classics like The Unguarded Moment and Reptile roll across the starlit Gum Ball arena.

Joining The Church is the virtuosic rising stars of Australian music, Harts, who will pay homage to the greatest guitarist that ever lived, Jimi Hendrix. The show is called Harts Plays Hendrix and is performed as a scorching three-piece, giving you the full “Jimi Hendrix Experience”. You’ll believe you’ve been transported to 1969.

The Gum Ball 2020 also sees the return of a powerful female trio in Dyson Stringer Cloher, the supergroup consisting of Mia Dyson, Liz Stringer and Jen Cloher. The festival will also feature celebrated Canadian songwriter and Be Good Tanyas member Frazey Ford.

Other artists on the line-up are Cash Savage & The Last Drinks, Cousin Tony’s Brand New Firebird, Steve Smyth, Lost Ragas, Coda Chroma, M.E. Baird, Irish singer-songwriter Susan O’Neill, Tori Forsyth, The Soul Movers, Lachlan X. Morris, Jones the Cat, Palomino, Buddy Dingo, Eagle Eye Jones and the local supergroup Dashville Progress Society.

The Gum Ball runs from 2pm Friday, April 24 to Sunday midday, April 26, incorporating a special Anzac Day dawn service on Saturday 25th April.

Tickets are on sale now through new ticketing partners Humanitix, with booking fees going to help Nutrition for Aussie School Kids. Visit www.dashville.com.au/gumball
