Renovated Respite Centre Helps Families Enjoy Life

A renovation to NovaCare’s Ailsa Craig Cottage at Hamilton means Hunter families now have access to high-end, stateof- the-art respite care for their loved ones. The revitalised Cottage has four private bedrooms, each with access to a large ensuite, and offers a relaxing, home-away-fromhome experience for guests in a tranquil environment. The Cottage offers families from the Hunter region day, overnight, emergency, and planned respite care.

“Respite care is so important, not just for the guests, but for caregivers. It provides caregivers with an opportunity to rest and recharge while continuing to care for their loved ones,” Joseph McCarthy, CEO NovaCare said.

“The support of Newcastle Permanent Charitable Foundation towards this renovation has meant that we’ve been able to create a respite cottage that is contemporary with all the comforts of home. From a care perspective the cottage is practical with the safety of our guests being paramount in the design while remaining visually appealing for our guests,” he added.
