New sporting facilities boost play at Warners Bay

The sporting community of Warners Bay has reason to celebrate with a new $1.5 million clubhouse and amenities building at Feighan Oval now complete in time for the start of 2021.

Lake Macquarie Mayor Cr Kay Fraser said local teams and spectators would benefit from the new facilities.

“I’m very excited that these facilities are now available for the Lake Macquarie sporting community,” Cr Fraser said.

“The new clubhouse and amenities mean that budding AFL players and cricketers will have a modern facility that includes change rooms, toilets, canteen and a covered area for spectators.”

The new facilities were made possible through a $300,000 grant from the NSW Government’s ClubGrants Category 3 Infrastructure Grants program, combined with $150,000 from AFL NSW/ACT and the remaining funding from Council.

“This new facility forms part of Lake Macquarie’s growing number of high-quality, modern sports venues, improving sport and recreation opportunities in our City,” Cr Fraser said.

The new clubhouse boasts four large change rooms, referees’ rooms, new bathrooms, a clubroom, storage room and a new canteen.
