Hunter Creative Duo To Showcase The Positive Found In Lockdown

With the help of Maitland City Council’s Quick Response Creative Streets grant program, a Hunter based creative duo is inviting Maitland residents to share a positive habit or skill they’ve acquired while in COVID-19 lockdown for a new project, Pandemical Habits.

Pandemical Habits, a collaboration between graphic designer Grace Barnes and photographer Jedidiah Cranfield, has received funding under Council’s Quick Response Creative Streets grant program, which forms part of Maitland City Council’s COVID-19 Response and Recovery initiatives.

The project seeks to showcase a positive habit or skill that nine Maitland residents took up during the COVID-19 lockdown.

These residents will feature in video and photographic profiles on social media as well as a Walls That Talk exhibition at Maitland Library.

Council’s Senior Place Activation Officer Portia Wendt says, ‘We’re thrilled to partner with up and coming creatives from the region to show how the people of Maitland stepped up to the challenge of the COVID-19 lockdown and came out with something positive. I’m really looking forward to seeing what new habits or skills local residents have discovered during this time.’

Residents of Maitland will have up until Sunday 26 July to submit their story to the Pandemical Habits project by using the hashtag #pandemicalhabits on Instagram and/or Facebook or by emailing pandemicalhabits@gmail.com
