Newcastle Fringe goes LIVEStream!

March 17, 2020

Not to be undone by overwhelming circumstances, some local Newcastle Fringe artists have decided to perform their shows via live stream on Facebook.

Although the Newcastle Fringe has had to be cancelled because of COVID-19 this is a wonderful effort by these artists to keep the spirit of the Fringe alive. In this troubled time it is important for the public to see that life can progress with a good news event such as this.

It’s a great way to curve the public’s anxiety and disappointment. Newcastle Fringe applauds the effort of these artists, as there is nothing in it for them, just a desire to perform and try to satisfy a disappointed public.

Improv Job - A Taster at 8pm Wed 18/3 - a remotely interactive experience for all the family (PG)

Re-Dial N for Nerder at 6pm Fri 20/3 - a film noir musical multimedia extravaganza

Gerkin Girls at 7.30pm Fri 20/3 - sketch comedy from Newcastle's own Perkins Pickles Vaudevillian Gay Time Spectacular Nerds & Music at 6pm Sat 21/3 - catch them before they go interstellar!

These performances will be conducted at the Royal Exchange in Bolton Street to an empty theatre but the Fringe hopes to many via live stream.

Stay safe at home & tune in to some Fringe events via Facebook Live! Spread the word, get your friends to like the Newcastle Fringe Facebook page & lighten your isolation. #NewcastleFringe #VirtualFringe
