Something for Everyone at Hope Estate 2020

There’s plenty to get excited about as 2019 draws to a close and 2020 quickly approaches – especially when it comes to events at Hope Estate. 2020 is shaping up to be another big year of concerts, festivals and fun times at Hope, with several exciting events already announced and rumours of more in the planning stages.

The new year is set to kick off with a bang as the iconic Elton John makes two stops at Hope on his Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour. On Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th January, Captain Fantastic is bringing his biggest and brightest show yet to Hunter audiences as he caps off an incredible 50-year career with one final tour. If you haven’t secured your tickets yet, don’t worry: there are some packages still available! But we’d recommend hopping to it – this will be Elton’s last ever stop in the Hunter Valley, so you don’t want to miss out.

The following weekend will also be a big one at Hope, with pub-rock legends Cold Chisel taking the stage on Saturday 18th January. The Blood Moon Tour is the band’s first-ever outdoor summer tour, made up of just over a dozen special dates throughout Australia and New Zealand in 2020. Barnesy and co. have only toured four times since the early 80s, so Hunter audiences have a rare and special show in store. And, with support acts Birds of Tokyo and Busby Marou joining the line-up, there’s something on offer for all music lovers.

If you prefer your events a little more hands-on, the 5K Foam Fest is heading to Hope Estate on Saturday 1st February. This one-of-a-kind fun run includes over 20 obstacles, from mud pits to hurdles to huge inflatable waterslides – and, of course, the foam: 2.5 million cubic feet of it, to be precise. Participants can also contribute to a good cause by creating a fundraising page for their run, with all donations going to Make-A-Wish. Be sure to register online if you’re keen to join in with the foam-filled fun. For those more into food than foam, some of Hope’s most popular lifestyle festivals will be making their return in 2020. The Cheese & Chocolate Festival will be back on Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th July, delighting cheese fiends and chocolate fanatics alike. With local produce, live entertainment and demonstrations, markets and more, it’s set to be a fun family weekend. The Beer & BBQ Festival also returns a few weeks later on Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th August. Celebrating the classic pairing of beer and finger-licking BBQ food, this event will feature plenty of food vendors and over 40 craft beers and ciders available for tasting. There’ll also be BBQ competitions and cookoffs, beer masterclasses, market stalls and plenty more.

A number of further events appealing to a broad range of tastes are rumoured to be in talks at Hope Estate in 2020, so keep an eye out for announcements in the new year. But in the meantime, you can always turn a visit to Hope’s cellar door and picturesque grounds into an event in itself! You’ll find award-winning craft beer and estate-grown wine ready for tasting seven days a week, plus pizzas, burgers and share plates if you’re feeling peckish. Winery tours, brewery experiences and even grape-stomping activities are also available. Between all that and the line-up of events in store for 2020, it’s set to be another fun-filled year at Hope.

Hope Estate is located at 2213 Broke Road, Pokolbin. For more info on the venue and its upcoming events, head to www.hopeestate.com.au, call 4993 3555 or email info@hopeestate.com.au
