For those who are after a different kind of summer experience at Hope Estate – you’re in luck! On Saturday, 1st February, the venue will play host to the 5K Foam Fest. This family-friendly event is headed to the Hunter in support of Make-A-Wish Australia, a children’s charity that provides unique experiences for children with critical illnesses. By participating in Foam Fest, you’ll be helping seriously ill Australian kids and their families – all while having a whole lot of fun on the grounds of Hope Estate.
So what does the 5K Foam Fest entail, exactly? Well, as the event title suggests, foam is the name of the game in this one-of-a-kind fun run. It’s an obstacle course rather than a straightforward 5K, with 2.5 million cubic feet of foam pumped over everything in sight! After wading through a wall of foam at the starting line, you’ll be running, jumping, climbing, clambering and crawling your way over and under 22 obstacles. With mud pits, foam zones and huge inflatable waterslides, it won’t be the cleanest 5K you’ve ever done, but it just might be the most fun. And don’t forget it’s all for a good cause: Make-A-Wish will receive all money raised through participant fundraising, so be sure to get the word out and raise some dollars to fund your run and support kids in need.
