Shake Off the Weeks' Stresses at Music in the Podium!

October 31, 2019

If unwinding on a Friday evening to the silky sounds of local musical talent, glass in hand while the sun sets slowly over the Warners Bay waterfront sounds like a treat then you’re in for a smorgasbord of treats this summer as the 21st season of Music in the Podium hits the stage on Friday 1 November

“This season we have another fantastic program of performances lined up that will make Friday nights on the Warners Bay Foreshore a ‘must-do’ activity. Don’t forget to mark your calendar for our special Christmas Carol evening with Central Church on Friday, December 20,” said Event Manager, Rhonda Campbell.

Warners Bay Chamber of Commerce President, Murray Halyburton, said he is looking forward to the launch of the 21st season, with the event made possible by major naming rights sponsor Hunter Water Corporation for the 2nd year running. Co-sponsors for the season are Lake Macquarie City Council, HL Mullane, Warners Bay and Lake Macquarie Private Hospitals and Energy Management Services. And we’re delighted to add that intouch Magazine is the new media partner for the event.

“The corporate sponsorship we have received over the last 21 years has been extremely valuable in helping establish this iconic fixture on the lake and cementing Warners Bay’s reputation as an entertainment and lifestyle destination,” said Mr Halyburton.

“Throughout the season there is a fantastic mix of popular covers, rock, jazz, blues, swing and big bands.”

Of course, it’s not just the music that’s tasty. Rhonda says that if you don’t feel like packing a picnic basket, visitors can enjoy one of the many local eateries or on-site catering.

“Hunter Water - Music in the Podium is a free, family-friendly event that attracts up to 4000 people each week to the Warners Bay Foreshore. The rejuvenated foreshore provides the perfect backdrop to unwind on a Friday evening, watch the sunset across the lake and catch up with friends while listening to some fantastic live music,” she said.

Hunter Water Music in the Podium will run from the first Friday in November 2019 until the 27th March 2020, except the Christmas break on 27 December 2019 and 3rd January 2020 (weather permitting).

Kicking off the season will be The Rumour Trio, with a setlist that reads like the party set from the best night of your life. They’ll have you wearing through your shoes on the dance floor from start to finish. Other performers to enjoy throughout November (which has a record five Friday nights!) include Walking Pheonix, 2 Good Reasons, Felix Quinn Band and Prestige Inc

Programs for the full-season are available at the event and from local Warners Bay businesses and event sponsors and will be published in each issue of intouch Magazine. You can follow Music in the Podium on Facebook and Instagram for regular updates on bands and cancellations due to weather or for further information email chamber@warnersbay.net.au
