Olympics silver medallist James “The Missile” Magnussen will share his aquatic prowess with budding young local swimmers as part of Lake Macquarie City Council’s 2019 Swim with the Stars.
Magnussen will join Commonwealth Games backstroke silver medallist Bradley Woodward and breaststroke bronze medallist Matt Wilson at the all-day clinic on January 20 at the Speers Point Swim Centre. Magnussen said he was looking forward to meeting local rising stars.
“My swimming career was fostered in a regional coastal town of NSW, and I’m really excited for the opportunity to give back to country swimming in NSW. “I can’t wait for the opportunity to share my passion for swimming with the local community of Lake Macquarie.”
The Sunday 20 January clinic will also feature sessions with national swim team coach and physiotherapist Adam Kable and NSW Institute of Sport swimming physiologist Stephan Crowcroft.
Swim With the Stars places are strictly limited. Tickets are $150 per person, with food and drinks provided throughout the day. Visit www.lakemac.com.au/swim-with-the-stars to book online.
