New Playground Complete in time for Build For A Cure Auction

More than 950 children are diagnosed with cancer each year in Australia, and one in six children die as a result. Sadly, around 50 of these children diagnosed are from the Hunter.

This year the McCloy Group and McDonald Jones Homes joined forces with the Children's Cancer Institute to launch Build For A Cure 2018, a major fundraising initiative in which a house was built from the ground up in just 21 days at The Bower, Medowie.

Currently open for inspection, the stunning four bedroom home comes complete with Freedom furnishings, Fisher & Paykel and Winning Appliances and an abundance of upgrades from McDonald Jones Homes. Every dollar from the sale of the home by auction on 21st October will go to lifesaving research by the Children’s Cancer Institute.

Chairman of McCloy Group, Jeff McCloy, commented that as a company “We believe it’s important to give back to the community that supports us and working with the Children’s Cancer Institute to bring childhood cancer to zero is imperative. Together we’re building a home in a community, to support an amazing outcome to cure childhood cancer.”

“We’re very proud of the exceptional living environments we produce throughout the Hunter and New England,” said Jeff. “The Bower is no exception and will provide a very attractive setting for the home buyer.”

All about family-living, The Bower will launch a one-hectare family park this October, just in time for the lucky family to move into the ‘house built with love’.

The super park is a quick stroll from the home and has facilities for adults and children alike. Families can look forward to enjoying everything from shooting hoops on the mixed court with both basketball and netball hoops, along with a mixture of slides, spiral climb, triple swing and even a 4m skyclimber… just to name a few.

For the big kids, there is an adult outdoor exercise station with equipment for upper body workouts, push-ups, sit-ups and stretching.

“We are committed to creating inspiring neighbourhoods, in which people love to live. Places that, we ourselves would be proud to call home.”

“We place a strong emphasis on creating an exceptional living environment through vibrant public art, aesthetically pleasing streetscapes, lively children’s playgrounds, cycleways and landscaped parklands” added Brian Swaine, McCloy Group Managing Director.

The Bower certainly presents a unique living opportunity in Medowie with a mixture of residential and rural residential homesites. This October the last of the acreage homesites will hit the market, a sought-after release with blocks from 1010 square meters to 5000 square meters. The community has been designed to be sympathetic to the surrounding area and complement the Medowie lifestyle, with 70 hectares of The Bower retained as Medowie State Conservation Area.

See the stunning Build for a Cure home yourself at one of the open homes or on 21st October for the final auction.
