It’s Childs Play Across Lake Macquarie

August 28, 2018

Bolton Point Park playground was put to the test by eager locals when it opened to the public late last month. The playground was recently upgraded to provide a range of modern play equipment designed for children aged between 2 and 12, including an activity unit with double slide, three-bay swing with an infant seat and a section that features a carousel, play boat and accessible rocker. All play areas have a soft-fall base.

Council’s Section Manager Community Assets, Brendan Callander, said the new playground provides an exciting modern play space for families in the Bolton Point area.

“Recreation areas and playgrounds are a central part of our community, providing places for children to play and for parents to meet and socialise with others,” Mr Callander said.

“We are excited to have created an improved play space that will be enjoyed by the local community for many years to come.”

This project was funded by the NSW Government in association with Lake Macquarie City Council and is one of three playgrounds being upgraded across the City. In June, a revamped playground at Luskin Way, Belmont, officially opened and construction will soon begin on the third playground at Edwards Park, Booragul.

Council is committed to providing recreational spaces for the community to enjoy and is forecast to spend $4 million on improving parks and playgrounds in 2018-19 as part of its capital works program.
