Spring Clean YOUR INSIDES!

What’s more satisfying than a thorough Spring Clean? Dusting away the cobwebs, clearing the clutter and opening up the doors to let that clean Spring air in. But this time, we’re talking about you and your body! We have been spring cleaning for hundreds of years, freshening and sprucing up our homes from top to bottom. Now it's time to shed YOUR winter coat!

So where to start? Here are a few simple food and lifestyle suggestions to give you that healthy reboot to put the Spring back in your step!

A Good Health Tonic - A simple elixir of water and apple cider vinegar with a touch of honey is a fantastic morning health tonic. As part of balancing the body's pH, apple cider vinegar creates an overall detoxification of the body. Research shows that it can help stimulate cardiovascular circulation and help detoxify the liver.

Swap your latte for a Green Tea - Green tea’s antioxidants can help protect us from free radical damage both externally and internally. Consuming green tea will help to clean up oxidisation inside our body and slow premature ageing. It is also fantastic for the metabolism and helps with burning fat.

Nourish your skin - Nourish your skin after months of drying, cold weather by hydrating the skin with cold pressed organic coconut oil. It’s natural, pure and inexpensive. Coconut oil contains medium-chain fatty acids, which helps to retain moisture content of the skin, as the fats eliminate moisture loss through the pores on the skin. Coconut oil is rich in many proteins which keep the skin healthy and rejuvenated.

Get outside and move the body - We have hibernated during Winter, so now it’s time to enjoy the warmth the sunshine brings. Our primary source of Vitamin D is when our skin is exposed to ultraviolet-B (UVB) light from the sun. We need Vitamin D to help our calcium and phosphorus absorption and to maintain healthy bones and teeth. A walk in the park, a cycle ride, gardening or kicking a football with the kids is the best way to get your Vitamin D, stay active and connect with nature.
