Reserve your place at the BEST Small bar

A clever, elegant and stylish refurbishment has transformed the former ANZ Bank into an intimate space - creating Newcastle’s trendiest wine bar. Reserve Wine Bar is a place to worship wine in all its glory and with a real focus on local wine producers.

Recently awarded Best Small Bar (NSW Regional) by Restaurant and Catering for 2 years in a row Reserve Wine Bar goes from strength to strength.

With a wine list that encompasses more than 300 carefully selected wines, they have one of the best wine lists in the region – just awesome for wine enthusiasts. But it's not grapes that they specialise in as they now also have a new cocktail list with 7 bespoke creations. This new cocktail offering has taken the East End by storm and from 4pm-6pm on a Saturday they are half price – you really need to check out why everyone is enjoying their $10 Espresso Martinis!

A new food menu has also just launched and with the ever changing by the glass selection of over 24 wines - there's something for everyone.

Considered one of the best places for wine dinners and tastings, the 120 capacity wine bar is also renowned for hosting some of the most unique one-off events. Whether it’s a canapé function or a four course dinner, the reserve team have a reputation for delivering hospitality at its best.

After the sold out October events which included the Lakes Folly Dinner and Hunter in our Sights Wine Tasting, the next exciting event is Hunter Gatherer which will be held on November 12. This very special one-off dinner celebrates the bountiful produce and wine of the Hunter Valley. For this unique event they have invited Tim Montgomery (formerly head chef of Bacchus) to source, cook and collaborate with the Reserve team.

The Hunter Gatherer dinner event will be a five course dinner using Hunter produce and matching wines making for a celebration of the coastal and inland terroir. The Reserve are joining forces with Silkman Wines and PepperTree/Briar Ridge for the event who will be pouring their medal-winning wines.Cost is $120 and includes five courses with matched wines.

The Reserve are now also taking bookings for Christmas parties but it's New Year’s Eve that's going to be the most exciting offering. Final details are yet to be confirmed, but there will be four pop-up bars within Reserve including a Gin Bar using Four Pillars Gin, a Champagne and Oyster bar using Piper Heidsieck – one of the world’s oldest Champagne houses (founded in 1785), Murrays Brewery and a winery too. Go to the Reserve website or Facebook in coming weeks for details.

With their spectacular wine list, great food, awesome dinner wine tasting events and now a new and exciting cocktail list, the Reserve continues to get a BIG Thumbs Up and may the awards keep on coming…
