Six Great Reasons to Head to Hawaii

Hawaii has to be one of the most perfect holiday destinations on earth. Every way you turn you’ll find stunning scenery that will simply take your breath away and the range of activities on offer is endless. Island culture and the ‘Aloha spirit’ filters into every part of Hawaii’s main islands, from the natural environment to the friendly locals. Combine this spirit with some sun and fun and it’s hard to narrow down the reasons to visit Hawaii.

STUNNING SCENERY: From white sand beaches with crystal clear water, to lush tropical valleys below towering mountains, to lava plains and cascading waterfalls, the scenery in Hawaii is truly breathtaking. Spend the morning swimming with green sea turtles and enjoy an afternoon watching the sun go down over the rim of a magnificent volcano.

INCREDIBLE ADVENTURE: Zipline through the rainforest canopies, scuba dive alongside manta rays, mountain bike down an extinct volcano crater, surf the huge swells or go tubing down historic irrigation channels. Whatever adventure you’re looking for you’ll find it on the islands of Hawaii.

RETAIL THERAPY: Pack an extra suitcase because Hawaii is one of the best places to shop for your favourite designer labels (and pick up some bargains along the way!). There are factory outlets with year-round sales and local craft and produce markets selling everything from macadamia nuts to traditional paintings.

RELAXING ENVIRONMENT: Swing in a hammock, sunbathe by the pool or read on the beach. When it comes to slowing down, Hawaii has it covered. If you’re without little ones enjoy the serenity of a couples’ treatment at a luxury hotel spa or if the kids are in tow, relish a peaceful afternoon by the pool while they’re entertained at the kids’ club. If you need a little kick start to begin relaxing then indulge yourself with a traditional Hawaiian massage (called ‘lomilomi’) to unwind.

OCEAN ACTIVITIES: Visit any one of Hawaii’s islands and you’ll find palm-fringed beaches that offer a whole host of different ocean activities. Whether you’re taking on the enormous swells at Banzai Pipeline, cruising on a stand-up paddle board on Waikiki Beach, or introducing the kids to the marine life during a snorkel session on Maui, Hawaii is the ultimate destination to dive on in!

EATING OUT: Hawaii thrives on casual dining, and is renowned for tropical Mai Tai cocktails and Kona coffee. Head to the graffiti-covered Giovanni’s Shrimp Truck in Kahuku on Oahu for some of the best fresh spicy prawns you’ll ever eat, indulge in classic Hawaiian Mai Tai’s at Duke’s in Waikiki, and explore the slopes of Hulalai to sample some of Kona’s finest at a local coffee farm.
