Three pant styles striding style-street this season

Who knew that there were three types of pant styles that were missing from your wardrobe? Take your style cues from the street (albeit a very stylish street – these looks were all snapped at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Australia 2015) and give your skinny leg jeans a rest.

Wide leg is arguably the most comfortable style you can shimmy in to. Dress them down with a t-shirt and embellished flats and you’ve got the perfect balance of sleek and cool.

Culottes are similar to the wide leg pants, but a little cropped, these are the perfect option if you want to show off a killer pair of heels. They’ll also give you a little extra height and the sliver of ankle skin exposed is surprisingly slimming. Are you ready to throw out all your skinny leg pants and start over yet?

Definitely not for pant rookies, flares require some serious styling and confidence. These are nothing like the bootleg jeans you wore back in high school – they’re way more grown-up and are only to be worn with heels.

Keep your look simple by throwing a shirt on, rolling the sleeves and tucking it half in, then adding the tallest heels you have.
