Is your beauty routine feeling a little blah? They say a change is as good as a holiday and the start of a new season is the best time to shake things up. Highlight your best features with defined brows and a perfect pout.
BROWS THAT WOW
Well-shaped eyebrows are the ultimate face framers. This season, it’s all about a thicker, more natural look. Here’s how to get them.
Step 1: The inside of your brow should line up with the outside corner of your nose. Place a pencil vertically against the outside of your nose and mark where it intersects with your brow. Repeat on the other side and tweeze between the two points you’ve marked.
Step 2: Line the pencil up from the outer corner of your nose to the outer corner of your eye; this is where your brow should end. Remove any hairs beyond this point, taking care not to over-pluck at the ends.
Step 3: The arch should follow the natural shape of your brow and be free of any stray hairs. Start by taking out any strays in the middle of the arch and finishing by tweezing all hairs below the natural shape of your eyebrow. Avoid tweezing the hairs above the brows – this can create an uneven shape.
Step 4: Finish by brushing brows into place. Pictured, left to right: Napoleon Perdis Brotox, Designer Brands Extend A Brow from Price Attack, The Body Shop Smoky 2 in 1 Gel.
Give your lips some extra attention by trying berry, plum, nude and red shades for autumn. The secret to a solid lip colour? Lightly dab your foundation on your lips, follow with a lip liner and then add lipstick. Want to make your lips look extra full? Highlight around your lips with a concealer or highlighter pen – it’ll make them POP!
