We are offering return flights from Ballina Byron Gateway Airport on FlyPelican to Dubbo Regional Airport for two people with accommodation at Dubbo RSL Motel for 2 nights and passes to see as many Dubbo Fringe shows as you can fit in! PLUS – we’ve also got the same prize package for two from Newcastle Airport!
All you have to do is like the @dubbofringe Facebook or Instagram page and leave a comment on which show you are looking forward to seeing. Entries close Thursday 29 April at 5pm and winners will be announced on social media on Friday 30 April.
The inaugural Dubbo Fringe Festival is fully programmed with over 60 events, 7 venues and more than 20 artist groups, all taking place in just 3 days of fabulous fringey fun and mayhem from 6 to 8 May.
Dubbo Fringe is being organised by the crew who run the Newcastle Fringe direct from a successful festival in March with several sell-out shows, many of whom are travelling to Dubbo to perform at Dubbo Fringe including all of the award-winning shows. Best Individual Performance by Sophie Cook in Mad Bitches Inc, Best Premier by Camino Man, Artist Merit Award went to Fever, Best Newcastle Show by OMG WTF and Best in Fringe was Disenchanted: A Cabaret of Twisted Fairytales.
Newcastle Acts
Shows that have performed at the recent Newcastle Fringe Festival and will be travelling to Dubbo to participate include one-man theatre show Camino Man, stand-up comedy shows The Art of Falling in Love and Who Let the Dyke Out, musical comedy act Up the Nerdsville Track, poetry by Girls on Key, songs and poetry in Failure to Launch, virtuoso guitarist Victor Martinez Parada, performance art show Fever by Slayge and The Grotty Gang and cabaret acts such as Mad Bitches, Disenchanted: A Cabaret of Twisted Fairy Tales and sell-out sensation OMG WTF.
Local Dubbo Acts*
Acts that are local to Dubbo that feature in the program include From the Notes in my Phone by Orana Dance Centre, Circus West, Who Me by Rob Lloyd, It’s a Jungle Out There by Art Club Dub, Novel Future, The Tin Camp Sessions by Warren Mason and the multi-art piece Entanglement by Outback Writers, Voices of Women and Studio 138 as well as a visual storytelling show called Dubbo Slide Night.
Touring Acts*
Acts that have travelled specifically for the inaugural Dubbo Fringe include Newcastle Comedy Showcase, Snez from the mid-north coast and Wouldman by Justin Buchta from Sydney.
