A bit of Honky - Tonk and a Whole Lot of Rock N Roll!

Jayes Travel is taking a small group of 16 ladies to the USA going from New York to New Orleans in mid-October, and they want YOU to join them on their incredible journey!

Michelle Barker, Managing Director of Jayes Travel, will be hosting the Jayes Travel Women (JTW) group and what better place to start the adventures through the USA than New York City! Spend six nights in the city that never sleeps, simply unpack your bags and immerse yourself in the bright lights of the Big Apple!

From there it’s time to set your watch to the slow, sultry drawl of America’s Deep South – as they sojourn from Savannah’s magnolia blossomed avenues to the jaunty cobblestone streets of Charleston – stately homes, lush plantations and some good ol’ Southern hospitality are yours to discover!

Then it’s time for a little honky-tonk, home-cookin' and a whole lot of Rock N Roll as the group take a lyrical pilgrimage from Nashville to Memphis and The Big Easy. The group will attend the Grand Ole Opry dedicated to honouring country music’s rich history and dynamic present. Go behind the scenes, walk in the footstep of country music’s superstars and get an exclusive look at what happens behind the scenes.

Learn more about the history of country music with visits to the Country Music Hall of Fame, the Johnny Cash Museum and the Ryman Auditorium. The throb of blues guitar on Beale St and Barbecue connoisseurs descend to stuff themselves silly on smoky pulled pork and dry-rubbed ribs…and of course Elvis fanatics fly in to worship at the altar of the King at Graceland!

The trip then ends in New Orleans where Jayes Travel Women will walk through and see decorative artwork embellishing the tombs. “Only in New Orleans, which is unique in so many ways, could cemeteries be major tourist attractions!” Take a steamboat Natchez jazz cruise, explore the Backstreet Cultural Museum where you will find an amazing assortment of Mardi Gras, Jazz Funerals and other traditions. Shop at the French Markets and meet the 'Voodoo Bone Lady' - over 30 years of experience helping curious, confused and grieving souls to claim the love, happiness, prosperity, success, and well-being that is our divine right.

“You won’t find these destinations combined in one convenient tour with any other operator, especially at the standard and size our tour groups are. We are currently the only touring company advertising an itinerary like this!” says Michelle.

The Jayes Travel Women program gives you the convenience of time, security and guidance. Their style of touring includes return transfers from your home address in the Newcastle/Hunter region, includes all your airfares and taxes from Sydney, at least 2 meals a day, 4 star and above accommodation, all sightseeing listed in the itinerary, your ESTA visa, a local guide throughout as well as a Jayes Travel representative and all of your tipping!

“Tipping, especially in the USA can be a bit of a nightmare as it is so foreign to us. Throughout the day, you would pay tips for your bags being carried to your room, transfer drivers, meals and drinks, tour guides and more, which could potentially leave you out of pocket $50 a day – and this does add up! Having tipping already pre-included in our Jayes Travel Women’s tours puts you more at ease and less reaching into your pocket unexpectedly,” said Michelle.

“With our tours, we also have many touring inclusions! As well as those listed above, in New York City we have also included a live gospel choir performance, a charming horse-drawn carriage through Central Park, visits to historic sites and a Broadway show! On most tours, these would be optional activities, which you would have to pay extra for,” she added.
